Job description

AP Health is a private practice providing perioperative services in the greater Nashville, TN area. We partner with hospitals and surgery centers to offer highly trained Advanced Practice Providers who assist in surgery.

We are looking for an experienced Surgical Assistant with at least 2+ years in general surgery. This position is strictly surgical with no clinic time.

What you will do:

• Function as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Position and drape the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting all tissue layers
• Assist in the intra‑operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Perform comprehensive and problem‑focused histories and physical examinations
• Rotate on call responsibilities

What you need:

• At least 2 years experience functioning as a general surgical first assistant – robotics experience is a must
• Current national surgical assistant certification
• Active BLS and ACLS certification
• Comprehensive and flexible medical, dental and vision insurance
