Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth in Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit on the Nights shift. This temporary Internal Registry assignment runs for 12 weeks, with full-time (.9) schedule and a flat rate of $60.00 per hour.

The RN will provide direct patient care and support education for mothers and newborns. Required are an active state RN license, BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications within specified timeframes, BSN preferred, and fetal monitoring credentials.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel; maintain standards of care in the Birthplace.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Collaborate with the chain of command to ensure newborn and mother care during antepartum and postpartum periods.

Education

RN License

BSN preferred

BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current

ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current

NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current

Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current
