Job summary

Marmic Fire & Safety Co. is seeking a Hood Cleaning Technician to clean and inspect commercial kitchen ventilation systems, ensuring NFPA 96 compliance and safe operation. You will work with clients to schedule service, document findings, and perform maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work Sunday through Thursday from approximately 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., with flexibility for occasional overtime.
• Experience with specialized cleaning equipment and techniques.
• Basic understanding of kitchen ventilation systems and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to use hand tools and cleaning equipment effectively.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen hoods, ducts, filters, and exhaust fans in accordance with NFPA 96 and local fire codes.
• Inspect kitchen ventilation systems and report issues or hazards.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on hoods and ducts.
• Prepare and submit service reports with before-and-after photos.
• Communicate with clients to schedule service and provide recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and use PPE as required.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
