Job summary

Summit BHC in Garner, NC is seeking an Intake RN for full-time night shift to manage admissions, screening, and insurance verification. The role collaborates with nursing, clinical staff, and the business office to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include initial evaluations, documentation of symptoms, coordinating pre-authorizations, and informing treating teams of admitted patients. Must hold a current RN license with mental health admissions experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• One or more years' experience in mental health or substance use disorder admissions preferred.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referral, treatment planning, and communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients.
• Provides initial evaluation and initiates the integrated assessment, documenting symptoms, functioning and needs.
• Collaborates with facility staff to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
• Verifies insurance and assists with pre-certifications during high volume periods.
• Maintains accurate admission documentation and coordinates with physicians to obtain orders and DSM-V diagnoses.
• May administer medications under physician supervision and educate patients on side effects.
