Job summary

Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, TX is seeking an Intake RN for night shifts (8P-8A) with weekend availability to manage admissions, assessments, and insurance verification. The role requires coordinating with physicians, nursing, and the business office to ensure timely admissions and appropriate levels of care.

The RN will screen patients, participate in DSM-V diagnosis discussions as needed, educate patients about medications, and assist with pre-certifications while maintaining accurate

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients.
• Provides initial evaluation and initiates the integrated assessment.
• Communicates treatment recommendations to and coordinates with other treatment teams.
• Verifies insurance and assists with pre-certifications during times of high volume.
• Maintains thorough documentation for admissions and ensures appropriate level of care.
• Educates patients on medications and monitors for effectiveness under physician supervision.
