Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm seeks a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant II to provide moderate-complexity inpatient psychiatric care under RN supervision at Wichita Falls State Hospital. You will support recovery plans, assist with daily living activities, and maintain therapeutic interactions with patients on a regular shift schedule.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and documentation of patient progress within a recovery-oriented, evidence-based care setting.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) months of direct care experience is preferred.
• CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• If transporting patients, must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and adheres to shift schedules.
• Supports individualized recovery plans and assists patients in reaching their goals.
• Communicates effectively with the care team to promote a positive workplace.
• Participates in the recovery/admissions team and documents patient care.
• Assists the licensed nurse with monitoring patients for medication administration and vital signs.
