Job summary

Printpack Inc in Grand Prairie, TX is hiring an Ink Technician for the Converting plant. The role focuses on preparing, blending, and managing inks, primers, and adhesives to support printing operations while ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will work a 3rd shift Sun-Thurs 11pm-7am with potential to move to a rotating 3/2 schedule. Strong color matching, formulation, inventory management, and familiarity with PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years ink technician experience preferred.
• Proficiency in color matching and blending.
• Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Apps).
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Understanding of safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills.
• Time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and blend raw materials for ink, primer, and adhesive formulation.
• Formulate and tone colors for press runs.
• Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs.
• Manage ink inventory and related materials.
• Process returned inks and track solvent usage.
• Input data into PRISM system.
• Handle, store, and label hazardous materials.
• Support press changeovers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Operate equipment including lift trucks and pallet jacks.
