Foster Farms in California is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for night shift to maintain two-stage ammonia systems, boiler and air systems, and all related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

The role requires at least 3 years in industrial refrigeration, with two-stage ammonia experience, and relevant certifications (First Responder, Haz-Mat, Confined Space, CPR/First Aid).

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years on the job experience in industrial refrigeration, preferably with two stage ammonia systems.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be trained First Responder - Level A suit qualified.
• Must be a trained Haz-Mat responder at 40-hour level.
• Must be certified in Confined Space training.
• Must be current on CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must be trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices.
• Understanding refrigeration blueprints, PHA's, SOP's and MOC's completion as certified by Maintenance Management.
• Experience with ammonia system pump-downs, repairs and compressor rebuilds.
• Knowledge of boilers, cooling towers and ammonia system contaminants.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate two-stage ammonia systems, boiler systems, air systems and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and rebuild equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure refrigeration equipment operates safely and optimally.
• Monitor and record readings; report unresolved discrepancies to Refrigeration Lead or Supervisor.
• Train lower classification technicians.
• Perform routine plant temperature checks and respond to out-of-spec conditions.
• Make independent maintenance decisions as required.
• Escalate during malfunctions to appropriate supervisors or emergency services.
