Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to support second and third shift maintenance of ammonia-based refrigeration systems in an industrial food processing environment.

You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex refrigeration equipment, read P&IDs, and follow PSM and HACCP standards to ensure safety and quality. CMMS documentation and teamwork with operations are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Foundational knowledge of ammonia refrigeration with ongoing skill development.
• Ability to read P&IDs and interpret system diagrams.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia-based refrigeration systems to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret P&IDs to understand system layout and operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant refrigeration equipment.
• Document work orders and maintenance activities in CMMS with accuracy.
• Follow PSM programs and HACCP standards for safety and quality.
• Respond urgently to alarms impacting production, quality, or safety.
• Coordinate repairs with maintenance and operations teams during start-up/shut-down.
