Job summary

Lesaffre Corporation in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair plant electrical and mechanical systems on a rotating night shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM). You will perform PM tasks, troubleshoot with PLC tools, and support electrical upgrades while documenting work in CMMS.

Qualified candidates have an Industrial Maintenance degree or 3–5 years of experience, plus PLC and electrical schematic proficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Maintenance or 3-5 years' experience
• Ability to read and understand PLC logic and electrical diagrams or schematics
• Ability to locate, read, and comprehend equipment manuals and use troubleshooting guides
• Willing and able to use a computer daily
• Familiar with different types of hand tools and power tools
• Possess basic mechanical skills and knowledge of mechanical system
• Operator training on forklifts, man lifts, and production equipment
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to handle critical decision-making and occasional extended hours

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment across the Red Star campus (motors, VFDs, HVAC, pumps, piping)
• Perform daily rounds and weekly PM tasks; document work in CMMS
• Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues using PLC interface software
• Assist with electrical upgrades, equipment modifications, and control panel construction
• Run conduit, pull conductors, and support equipment installation projects
• Provide support to other technicians and document progress via MS Outlook
• Fill PM reports and maintain accurate records
• Other duties as assigned
