Job summary

IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis is seeking a qualified HVAC Technician for night shift to operate, install, troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems across hospital facilities.

The role requires reading blueprints, following applicable codes, and maintaining safety standards. A high school diploma or GED is required, with universal CFC certification and at least 2 years of relevant experience. On-call weekends and holidays apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Universal CFC required.
• General knowledge of electrical, electronics, mechanical equipment repair and HVAC related systems.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local, OSHA and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Experience in industrial or commercial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates, installs, troubleshoots and repairs heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration related electromechanical equipment and HVAC systems across facilities.
• Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs HVAC electrical, electronics, pneumatics and mechanical applications of systems.
• Reads and interprets information from AHUs, freezers, walk-in refrigerators, isolation systems and laminar flow systems, motor controllers and HEPA filtering requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
