Job summary

Amentum in East Peoria, IL is seeking an HVAC Technician II to maintain buildings and equipment, including refrigeration, air handlers, and related systems. Typical shift is 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekends and on-call hours to support the client.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components; operates CMMS for maintenance scheduling; requires EPA 608 Universal certification and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in area of specialization. Must have EPA 608 Universal Certificate
• Must be able to work out of an aerial lift 30ft or higher.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, reveals mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature.
• Encounters diverse problems that require thorough analysis.
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary.
• Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Coordinates work with outside contractors.
• Assures code and building standards are met.
• Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned in non-position duties as needed to support client’s needs.
