Job summary

Amentum is seeking an HVAC Technician II to join our team in East Peoria, IL. The position's typical schedule is 10:30PM-7:00AM with potential variation based on business demand and rotating weekend on-call hours to support the client.

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining buildings, facilities, and equipment, including refrigeration repairs, troubleshooting, and air handler maintenance. Duties may include electrical, plumbing, welding, and general mechanical maintenance across HVAC

Qualifications

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in area of specialization. Must have EPA 608 Universal Certificate
• Must be able to work out of an aerial lift 30ft or higher.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, reveals mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature.
• Encounters diverse problems that require thorough analysis.
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary.
• Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Coordinates work with outside contractors.
• Assures code and building standards are met.
• Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned in non-position duties as needed to support client’s needs.
• Reports on problems to leadership and management
