Job summary

bioMérieux in Utah is seeking a knowledgeable HSE Technician II to join our Salt Lake City HSE team. The role focuses on supporting health, safety, and environmental programs, delivering training, and driving continuous safety improvements across diverse environments.

The successful candidate will lead hazard identification, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance efforts, collaborating with employees and leaders to foster a proactive safety culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 years HSE experience, including at least 3 years performing OSHA-related HSE duties in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing, preparing, and delivering training presentations to individuals and groups.
• Experience conducting workplace safety inspections, investigations, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and environmental assessments, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response initiatives.
• Assist with and conduct incident and near-miss investigations, including data collection, root cause analysis, and documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize injury and incident data for Safety Committee meetings and leadership reporting.
• Support tracking and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
