Job summary

bioMérieux in Salt Lake City is seeking an experienced HSE Technician II to support health, safety, and environmental programs across site operations. You will help identify hazards, mitigate risks, and drive continuous safety improvements while partnering with employees and leadership.

The role emphasizes training delivery, incident investigations, and maintenance of safety documentation, with opportunities to contribute to site-wide sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 years of HSE experience, including at least 3 years performing OSHA-related HSE duties in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing, preparing, and delivering training presentations to individuals and groups.
• Experience conducting workplace safety inspections, investigations, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and environmental assessments, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response initiatives.
• Assist with and conduct incident and near-miss investigations, including data collection, root cause analysis, and documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize injury and incident data for Safety Committee meetings and leadership reporting.
• Support tracking and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
