Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for full-time night shifts to safeguard patients, staff and visitors across hospital premises.

You will patrol, monitor CCTV, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with leadership and law enforcement as needed. The role requires maintaining compliance with hospital policies, prioritizing requests, and ensuring safety with professionalism and compassion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with no violations for 2 years.
• Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain TasER/CEW, de-escalation, handcuffing and defensive tactics within 6 months.
• CHSO certification with IAHSS within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and file incident/investigation reports per policy.
• Confront suspicious/unauthorized individuals for questions.
• Direct unauthorized individuals or seek police assistance when needed.
• Check vehicles for proper parking and issue violations as appropriate.
• Inspect interior/exterior lighting and access routes to emergency entrances.
• Take corrective action and assist in security and safety matters.
• Complete reports/logs on shift and review for accuracy before submission.
• Answer calls, dispatch services, monitor CCTV, alarms, and manage access control.
