Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is seeking a Night Shift Security Officer to join our team. The role patrols hospital facilities and grounds, protects this critical access hospital’s people and assets, and enforces safety protocols to deter threats and respond to emergencies.

Candidates with private security, law enforcement, or military experience are welcome; driving record and a valid license are required. On-the-job training is provided to support safety and compliance across shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in private security, public law enforcement, or military duty is helpful but not essential.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides security-related services in a professional and courteous manner.
• Protects Mercy Medical Center, its equipment and supplies against hazards and theft.
• Patrols facilities and grounds to deter threats and investigate unusual occurrences.
• Enforces parking policy in a fair and equitable manner.
• Ensures all entrances, doors, gates, and windows are secure and reports issues.
• Responds to campus emergencies and supports clinical staff as needed.
