Job summary

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists with preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and updating patient records.

The role supports patient-specific care and follows service standards to ensure high satisfaction. Responsibilities include preparing IVs and chemotherapy drugs, ensuring accurate charges and deliveries, and maintaining documentation and inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration for Pharmacy Technicians is required.
• Sterile IV certifications (ACPE or ASHP) are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare IVs, IVPBs, and chemotherapy medications using aseptic technique and manage IV room workflow.
• Select, charge/credit, and prepare medications for patients, dispensing machines, floor stock, and crash carts; investigate missing meds before replacement.
• Ensure timely delivery of medications/IVs and floor stock to appropriate locations.
• Maintain required documentation (temperature logs, expired meds checks, shift duties, cleaning logs).
• Assist with inventory control of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
• Perform drug distribution duties as appropriate.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

One year hospital experience as Pharmacy Technician

Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Pharmacy Technician Registration

Sterile Products (IV) Certification
