Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center is seeking a Food Service Cook for a 11:00PM to 7:30AM shift. You will prepare and portion meals for patients, cafeteria, and catering with a focus on accuracy, safety, and timeliness.

The role requires at least two years of hospital cooking experience or equivalent, ability to follow standardized recipes, and strong teamwork. Benefits eligible and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and read English.
• Ability to take Food Service Sanitation exam within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion foods for patients, cafeteria, and events according to recipes and records.
• Cook and replenish hot food items for patient trays and cafeteria in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to deadlines and proper labeling, dating and storage of items.
• Maintain sanitary work environment and follow safety regulations at all times.
• Document food quantities and waste; rotate and label items correctly.
• Assist in cost-containment through standardized recipes and portion control.
