Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Food Service Cook at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL to produce meals for patients and the cafeteria, following diet orders and recipes.

You will cook a wide variety of hot items, ensure safety, label and store foods, and help control leftovers; maintain quality and temperature standards across departments.

Must be able to work evenings, holidays, and weekends with a focus on accuracy, speed, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of two years of hotel, restaurant or hospital cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food servings for patients, cafeteria, and events.
• Cook and replenish hot food items for patient trays, cafeteria, and catering.
• Ensure deadlines and adherence to recipes; label and store food properly.
• Promote patient safety and maintain a sanitary work environment.
• Complete Food Waste Log and assist in cost containment.
• Attend meetings and trainings and complete competency assessments.
