Job summary

Ochsner Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking a compassionate Nurse's Assistant (CNA) to support patient care under licensed nurses. This role includes observing patients, communicating changes, and ensuring safety in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred: High School diploma; hospital/telemetry experience; CNA certification; BLS and CPI must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts weekly with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• CPI training must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient with computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Support the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient care environment.
• Provide care based on patient age, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria.
• Communicate patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Complete documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapt interactions to the specific patient population, including privacy considerations and consent.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
