Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a night shift Environmental Services worker to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment at 66 Blossom Street. The role involves cleaning floors, furniture, walls, restrooms and common areas, with an emphasis on infection prevention and safety policies.

The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Experience in healthcare cleaning is preferred, and the role is onsite with a 16-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving equipment.
• Previous environmental services or healthcare cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and glass surfaces.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies as needed.
• Collect and remove debris from building grounds and surrounding areas.
• Operate and maintain high- and low-speed floor care equipment, including stripping and buffing machines.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, special events, and routine hospital activities.
• Identify and report building maintenance issues and safety concerns within assigned facilities.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and departmental procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
