Job summary

Our Hospice of South Central Indiana is hiring a Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) for our 14-bed Inpatient Facility in Columbus, IN. The RN will manage a caseload with support from NPs, Physicians, Aides, Chaplains, and Social Workers, navigating the patient and family needs during their most difficult times.

The Night shift runs 7 pm to 7:30 am, 3x12s, with every other weekend. Candidates should have Indiana RN licensure, CPR, and hospice knowledge, and be prepared to work in a compassionate

Qualifications

• ASN or BSN required; or currently enrolled in an accredited program preferred.
• Licensed RN in Indiana and CPR certification.
• Prior hospice or palliative care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients/families in the Hospice Inpatient Facility.
• Performs as case manager maintaining responsibility for assigned patients with IDG support.
• Teaches, supervises and counsels patient/family care techniques including pain and symptom control.
• Provides Discharge Planning for patients leaving the Inpatient Center.
• Develops and implements the plan of care in collaboration with patient, family and IDG.
• Communicates with and updates IDG team members to coordinate quality care.
• Promotes the Hospice benefit and educates referring sources and community partners.
• Maintains accurate records per organizational policies with timely documentation.
• Performs all essential duties with reasonable accommodations as needed.
