Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide compassionate nursing and supportive care for terminally ill patients and their families. You will work with an interdisciplinary team, develop patient-directed care plans, and educate families in infection control and care goals.

The role requires ADN/BSN, MD RN licensure, and at least two years of nursing experience. The work includes managing acuity, documentation, and supporting patients through end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• ADN and/or BSN from an accredited institution.
• Two years of nursing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current MD registered nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to patients with life-limiting illness to maintain highest level of care.
• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop an individualized plan of care and consults with attending physician when necessary.
• Evaluates patient/family response to intervention and modifies care plan; educates patient/family to maintain quality of care and infection control protocols.
• Documents on appropriate chart and forms in a timely manner to provide an inpatient record.
• Participates in Quality Improvement to maintain or improve patient care.
• Provides direction and supervision to Patient Care Partners, Unit Receptionists and volunteers.
• Completes daily acuity assessments for assigned patients.
• Attends to patient and family at the time of death.
