Qualifications

• LPN licensure in state of employment.
• IV certification required at time of hire with deadlines.
• Current BLS for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• For Hope employees: BLS by 2025.
• For Capital Caring employees: BLS by 2024.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; reliable transportation.
• Infusion therapy certification preferred if inpatient unit.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Flexible schedule to meet patient needs.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing tasks to patients and families under RN supervision.
• Dressing changes, catheter changes per care plan.
• Monitor patients for changes and report to RN.
• Notify physicians/APRNs of findings.
• Perform venipuncture and IV-related duties per protocol.
• Document in medical records.
• Support in emergencies and potential cross-training.
