Job summary

University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a full-time Histology Technician II to support Dermatopathology, Histology and Immunohistology labs within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The role entails processing specimens, performing high-complexity histology procedures, and coordinating research activities.

Ideal candidates have HT/HTL ASCP certification, a minimum of 3 years of experience, and strong organizational, communication, and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum: related undergraduate study.
• ASCP Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare simple and complex reagents or media under direct supervision.
• Receive, accession and triage patient specimens, blocks and slides.
• Perform high complexity testing and advanced histopathology procedures and staining techniques.
• Offer expertise in Immunohistochemistry including H&E, special stains, IHC, IF, CISH.
