Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a Lab Assistant I - Histology for night shift hours 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role supports preparation of histopathology samples and requires basic lab skills and a high school diploma.

You will perform routine slide prep, label specimens, manage clerical duties and use MS Office and LIS systems. Position offers pay starting at $17.20 per hour with shift differentials and a potential annual bonus; benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college science courses preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.
• Ability to follow procedures, maintain accuracy, and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine activities involved in the preparation of histopathology slides under supervision.
• Receive, label and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.
• Process paperwork related to accessioning and reporting.
• Monitor inventory and stock supplies; maintain workspace and equipment.
• Perform coverslipping of stained slides and complete assigned clerical duties.
• Comply with health, safety and quality policies and use PPE.
