Qualifications

• AA or AS degree or equivalent training and experience.
• 1-3 years experience as a Histotechnician.
• Special Requirements: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists per policies.
• Ensure accessioning and labeling of tissue samples are correct.
• Process tissues and embed in paraffin; perform microtomy.
• Stain slides with H&E and cover slips, manual or automated.
• Prepare reagents for special stains and IHC procedures.
• Maintain equipment, document QC and troubleshoot minor failures.
