Les Schwab Tire Centers in Oregon is seeking a skilled mechanic to perform equipment maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, forklifts and related gear. The role requires adapting to a night shift and leveraging manuals and schematics to ensure safe, efficient operation.

The position emphasizes mechanical aptitude, experience with engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and the ability to perform DOT inspections within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 3 years experience as mechanic and/or trade school with autos or heavy duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, dollies, company passenger vehicles, and material handling equipment.
• Test drive equipment during the diagnose and repair process.
• Repair engines and major components.
• Repair electrical systems.
• Repair hydraulic systems.
• Service heating and air conditioning.
• Service tires, body, brakes.
• Welding and fabrication.
• Utilize equipment manuals and schematics in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
