Job summary

Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to enforce policies and protect patients, staff and visitors. The role requires patrolling facilities, responding to incidents, and de-escalating tense situations while maintaining accurate reports.

The position is full-time, night shift with 40 hours per week. Prior healthcare security experience is preferred; a current driver’s license and AHSS certification within a year are desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• College or vocational education is preferred.
• Prior experience healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• May require a current valid driver's license with Sanford insurability dependent upon region.
• Basic certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds.
• Responds to requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors.
• De-escalates tense situations and maintains safety.
• Prepares incident reports and maintains security records.
