Job summary

Sanford Health in Fargo is seeking a Security Officer for the Night shift to protect people and property across the facility. You will monitor premises, respond to incidents, and coordinate with staff to maintain safety.

Documentation of events, de-escalation of tense situations, and compliance with applicable laws are essential. A high school diploma is preferred and prior security or law enforcement experience is valued; a valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• College or vocational education is preferred.
• Prior experience healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• May require a current valid driver's license with Sanford insurability dependent upon region.
• Basic certification by IAHSS preferred within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning.
• Reports safety, fire hazards or security violations.
• Responds to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors.
• Assists with any and all situation; i.e., problem-solving with positive outcomes.
• May escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.
• Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
