Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work 7 PM to 7:30 AM on a 12-hour shift, with 12/36 hours and every-other weekend. The role supports interprofessional teams in delivering patient care and maintaining medical records.

The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU-UHW; new hires must join the union within 31 days. Preference given to candidates with geriatric care experience and unit clerk background.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required (AHA) for healthcare professionals.
• 1 year geriatric setting experience preferred.
• 1 year unit clerk/secretary experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interprofessional team to deliver quality patient care under a licensed nurse.
• Manages medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Delivers care with attention to age-specific needs.
• Coordinates communication for the unit and uses paging/phone systems.
• Admissions, discharge and transfer support including room setup and belongings.
• Maintains safety and follows infection control policies.
