Job summary

Slate is seeking a Group Leader to oversee daily assembly operations, ensuring timely, high-quality production of Trim, Chassis, or Final Line. You will coordinate with planning, logistics, and engineering to optimize flow and resolve bottlenecks, while upholding safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive manufacturing, with 2+ years in a supervisory role, plus strong Lean, Six Sigma, and ERP experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Automotive OEM experience preferred.
Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing.
5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of trim line processes and automotive interior components.
Proven leadership skills and ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production planning software.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations ensuring timely and quality production of automotive Trim, Chassis, or Final Line.
Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet production demand.
Collaborate with production planning, logistics, and engineering teams to optimize workflow and resolve bottlenecks.
Enforce safety standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance.
Lead, coach, and develop production Team Leaders and Team Members; conduct performance reviews.
