Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Talladega Lumber is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Shipping Department. Starting wage is $20.00 per hour and can increase with skills and performance. This role supports loading trucks and rails, verifying orders, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Shifts are 10 hours, with rotation and overtime; flexible to work any shift, including holidays and weekends as needed. The position is on-site in Talladega, AL, and requires safe forklift operation in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience safely operating forklift in a Manufacturing, Distribution, or Industrial Production Environment.
• Willingness to work any shift including overtime, holidays and weekends.
• Experience using a computer for record keeping and documentation.
• Experience performing basic maintenance on forklifts and entering work orders in MOE system.

Responsibilities

• Load incoming trucks and rail cars with the proper product and weight for shipment; verify orders for accuracy.
• Ensure products meet packaging standards and verify labels.
• Maintain clear communication with team, production, and supervisor to address issues.
• Keep work area neat and organized for inventory control; perform forklift housekeeping each shift.
• Perform basic forklift maintenance and document needs in the MOE system.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
