Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator in Indianapolis, IN. Pay rate is up to $21.00/hr, with a $2.00/hr night shift differential (12am–6am).

Schedule is Mon–Fri, 12am–8:30am. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, staging, scanning, and documentation of cargo in a multimodal terminal. Qualifications: 3+ years dock/warehouse experience, valid forklift certification, ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasional 75 lbs with assistance), and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Certification: Valid forklift certification required.
• Experience: 3+ years dock/warehouse experience.
• Communication: Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Arithmetic: Basic math for freight counts and weights.

Responsibilities

• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and mentor others.
