Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator responsible for safe, accurate loading, unloading, staging, scanning, and moving freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse.

As a seasoned team member, you will mentor newer Material Handlers and help resolve on-the-floor operational issues. This role requires a valid forklift certification, 3+ years dock/warehouse experience, and the ability to work evenings Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance.
• Strong English communication.
• Ability to operate MHE and learn company systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading activities following dock and safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld scanning devices and company systems.
• Identify damaged freight and promptly report issues or equipment concerns to supervisory personnel.
• Abide by all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment.
