Job summary

Model Dairy LLC is seeking a dedicated laboratory technician to perform microbiological and chemical analyses, support quality systems, and maintain documentation in a production setting. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and compliance with GLP/GDP standards.

The candidate will handle sample preparation, data entry, and routine lab duties, with a shift from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM on weekdays (occasional weekends and OT) and opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience working in a food laboratory environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledgeable of GLPs and GDPs.
• Strong understanding of microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Approach tasks with a CI mindset and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Own and promote a safety culture and safe work environment.
• Perform sensory evaluation of product samples and prepare materials for analysis.
• Conduct microbiological analyses including Coliform, SPC, Yeast & Mold.
• Perform chemical/physical analyses (e.g., antibiotics, pH, Brix, fat and solids).
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment (Foss FT120, Cryoscope, Horiba, pH meters).
• Record data, prepare COAs, and generate reports for management.
• Maintain GDPs and GLPs in daily lab operations.
