Job summary

Bento Inc. in Chicago operates a food processing facility and is seeking an Overnight Food Processing Maintenance Supervisor.

The role oversees hands-on maintenance, safety, and reliability of equipment, and drives process improvements in a high-demand plant environment. The ideal candidate has a mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering background with at least 5 years in maintenance within food manufacturing, and strong Lean/Six Sigma experience to reduce downtime and improve quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of food safety standards for chilled environments.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and innovation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment and facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Identify and resolve equipment issues to ensure minimal production disruption.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and food safety standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Support engineering projects related to equipment upgrades and installations; ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
