Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Floor Finisher for night shift to clean and maintain floors and ensure a sanitary environment. Responsibilities include floor care, moving equipment, and waste handling while adhering to PPE requirements.

Prior experience in environmental services and knowledge of biohazardous waste handling are preferred. The role requires flexibility and a strong focus on safety and quality in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience in environmental services preferred.
• Basic knowledge of biohazardous and/or hazardous waste management preferred.
• Hard Surface and Carpet Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic tasks in your area (e.g., cleaning, moving equipment and furniture, and floor care maintenance) under direct supervision.
• Move and dispose of biohazardous waste and regular trash to designated receptacles.
• Assist in maintaining PPE in good condition per job hazard assessments.
• Provide patients, visitors, and staff with a safe, clean environment.
• Support cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infections.
• Complete hard-surface floor refinishing with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.
• Complete proper carpet cleaning and maintenance with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet department and institution goals.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Participate in performance reviews as part of our process.
