Qualifications

• One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided.
• Must be able to communicate and understand English

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of the floors on the assigned facility in a neat and sanitary manner.
• Mop, sweep, scrub, and strip floors; apply floor sealers and finishes.
• Fully vacuum carpets in traffic areas and remove visible debris.
• Spot-clean carpets using extraction and bonneting methods.
• Maintain hard floors with no buildup in corners and provide dust mop.
• Polish floors to restore high gloss in traffic areas.
• Keep equipment clean and in good operation condition.
• Secure the work area with safety signs.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.
• Lock/unlock doors and windows; turn off lights when rooms are unoccupied.
• Work day, evening or night shift as assigned.
• Work independently with normal supervision.
• Observe safety precautions at all times.
• Perform related work as directed.
• Leave equipment clean and ready to use at shift end
