Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Floor Technician to handle floor care and janitorial duties at Brightpoint Community College Chester, with evenings and Friday to Monday shifts as business needs dictate.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to pass a background check, and flexibility for after-hours work. Training and safety rules are provided to ensure quality cleaning and maintenance of floors and facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED not required.
• 1 year of experience helpful but not required.
• No professional certifications required.
• Background check required.
• Evenings and weekends as needed may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily dust mopping, cleaning (wet mop and auto scrub) and buffing of floors.
• Performs periodic stripping and waxing of floors and restroom floors restoration.
• Performs periodic carpet cleaning by extractor or bonnet shampooing.
• Cleans floor equipment after each use and reports repairs to supervisor.
• May assist with dusting, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, trash removal and glass cleaning as needed.
