Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a Float Patient Care Technician for the Delnor Resource Team on a part-time nights schedule. The role supports RN-led care, monitors vitals, and assists with daily living activities while maintaining unit workflow.

The position requires a high school diploma, nursing student with a clinical rotation or CNA/CMA/EMT certification, and CPR-BLS. Two 12-hour night shifts (7p–7:30a) with alternating weekends and rotating holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing students with clinical rotation or CNA/CMA/EMT certification.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities under RN supervision.
• Monitors vital signs, blood glucose, intake/output.
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly; supports unit workflow.
• Prioritizes tasks and responds to changing needs of patients and staff.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls, intercoms, and communicates with staff/family/patient.
• Assists with census processes and daily admissions/discharges as needed.
