Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to assist in ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicle fleet. The position involves performing inspections and maintenance on various vehicles, diagnosing issues, and conducting repairs. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma and a technical training diploma. ASE Certification is preferred, and a valid driver's license is mandatory. The company offers competitive pay ranging from $24.86 to $37.26 per hour based on experience, along with beneficial annual allowances.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with a 2-year technical degree or 3 years of fleet maintenance experience.
• ASE Certification in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty required.
• Current driver's license, CDL-A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct scheduled repairs and address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report issues.
• Document all work on Work Orders using Complaint, Cause, and Correction format.
• Learn and develop skills in Sysco Maintenance-related computer programs.

Skills

Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components

Diagnosis and repair of electrical systems

Welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)

Computer-based diagnostic software

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school
