Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is hiring a Field Engineer, Operations Maintenance for the 3rd shift (Sun-Thu 11 PM–7:30 AM) to support filling, packaging, anaerobe and bioreactor operations. The role emphasizes mechanical and basic electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands-on equipment familiarization across conveyors, cartoners, pumps, and related systems.

The candidate will work with engineering teams on projects, document repairs in CMMS, and maintain compliance with GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years mechanical maintenance and basic electrical experience in equipment common to biological, pharmaceutical or food processing.
• Technical institute training and certification in mechanical manufacturing applications fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production process equipment supporting production schedules and quality requirements.
• Troubleshoots and implements corrective action where equipment experiences performance issues.
• Identifies equipment upgrades to enhance performance and reliability with approvals within guidelines.
• Supports training of production and maintenance personnel relative to operations and care of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Assists and supports engineering projects involving electro-mechanical applications in design, testing and implementation.
• Follows Company policy and SOPs relative to financial, environmental health and safety, training, etc.
• Coordinates with Planner/Scheduler and supervisors to ensure scheduling information is communicated and work orders are completed within compliance windows.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by manager to support operations.
• Utilizes CMMS per SOP to document work and ensure preventive maintenance requirements and timelines.
• Keeps current on new technologies impacting self-knowledge and equipment.
