Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to perform cable splicing in air, underground, indoors and outdoors. The role requires frequent travel and overnight work during off-peak hours, with shared weekend on-call for emergencies.

Responsibilities include installing, troubleshooting and maintaining fiber optic systems, reading maps, and performing fusion splicing with splicing tools. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables.
• Experience reading design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs.
• Proficiency using related splicing equipment including fusion splicers, OTDR, optical power meters and related tools.
• Ability to distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic system.
• Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment.
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in equipment racks at central offices or hub sites.
• Read design maps and fiber schematics to guide splicing.
• Perform fusion splicing and operate related equipment.
• Ensure on-call readiness for emergency restoration.
