Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a dependable operator in Martinsville, VA to run stripping and grinding equipment, inspect materials, and separate recyclables to maintain fiber quality. You will weigh fiber, document production data, and bale material for storage or shipment.

This role requires safe operation of industrial machinery, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Competenze

• Previous manufacturing, machine-operating, recycling, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Experience in nonwovens, textile, fiber, converting, or similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate industrial machinery and follow written operating procedures.
• Ability to read scales, complete basic production documentation, and perform basic math.
• Ability to identify and properly separate different material types.
• Ability to recognize equipment problems and communicate maintenance needs promptly.

Mansioni

• Safely operate stripper to remove coated layers from nonwoven material and prepare recoverable material for processing.
• Operate grinder to process rolls, trim, scrap into recyclable fiber.
• Inspect material prior to processing for appropriateness in the recycling stream.
• Separate materials to prevent contamination of recycled fiber.
• Collect and weigh processed fiber and record weights and production data.
• Operate baling equipment to compact fiber into bales for storage or shipment.
