Job summary

University Housing Facilities seeks a Facilities Technician I for the 3rd shift to maintain safe, clean spaces for residents and guests. You will assist in repairing small equipment and troubleshoot maintenance issues, supporting a 24/7 operation with a focus on timely responses to emergencies.

The role offers a 3rd shift schedule (8:30pm–7:00am, four 10-hour shifts) with rotating holidays/weekends, and opportunities to learn and refine facilities skills in a busy university environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months of general mechanical, small equipment repair, custodial, or floor experience.
• English proficiency required with the ability to speak, read, write, and understand verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with inventory and distribution of deliveries to appropriate entities under close supervision.
• Assists with routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness.
• Utilizes basic equipment to repair and maintain basic machinery, equipment, and facility property under close supervision to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation.
• Escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures.
• Responds to and resolves urgent or emergency elevator, mechanical, temperature, and safety issues in housing and dining spaces.
• Maintains and cleans residence halls, dining facilities, and immediate surrounding grounds and walkways.
