Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance across facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and safety systems. You will document work in the CMMS, support process improvements, and assist with projects and on-call coverage.

The role requires strong communication, hands-on skills with tools, and the ability to work nights and weekends on a rotating shift.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical or mechanical maintenance or GED with 2 years experience.
• 4+ years in building maintenance or mechanical repair.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, multi-meters and test equipment.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance manuals and blueprints.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Communicate facility and safety issues to Facilities Management and coordinate with internal customers and vendors.
• Manage spare parts for facility utilities to minimize equipment downtime.
• Support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, fire/life safety and emergency power systems.
• Enter, prioritize and complete work orders in the CMMS system.
• Conduct regular building inspections and document findings with follow-up actions.
• Respond to power outages and assist in restoration efforts.
• Follow SOP and EHS requirements and maintain GMP documentation.
• Participate in on-call program for emergency service.
• Provide technical support under Sr Maintenance Technician for infrastructure and controls.
