Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. (BRC) seeks a Facilities Porter to maintain clean, safe residential and program facilities across Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens.

You will perform custodial duties, assist with light maintenance, manage waste, and support safety and inspections while delivering friendly client service. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll work Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7:30am, with a pay rate of $18.59 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 1+ year custodial or facilities maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.
• Ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial duties throughout residential, shelter, and office environments.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect areas including restrooms and kitchens.
• Collect and dispose of trash and waste materials.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom items.
• Setup and move furniture for meetings or events.
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to supervisors.
• Provide courteous service to clients, residents, and staff.
• Maintain cleaning logs and records.
