Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Night Shift Operations Support Specialist to provide dispatch and communications for campus and affiliates. You will handle high-volume inquiries by phone, email, and web, dispatch work orders, and monitor building alarms across systems.

The role requires a High School diploma, 2 years in facilities/customer service, and NIMS certification within a year. You must be able to remain calm under pressure, use Microsoft Office, and coordinate with on-call staff

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years related work experience.
• Customer Service, Control Center, and Emergency response experience required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and multi-line telephones.

Responsibilities

• Responds to service calls via phone, email, and web-based requests from University community and others.
• Creates and dispatches work orders to appropriate personnel based on urgency.
• Monitors building automation system alarms and responds to critical issues.
• Determines emergency status, notifies supervisors, and coordinates with on-call staff.
• Obtains authorization for contact and documents actions for emergency logs.
• Participates in on-call rotation and supports emergency operations center as needed.
